Ah yes, how the mighty have fallen this season. South Florida was the latest team to fall victim losing to Rutgers on Thursday night. Now, it's LSU's turn to see if they can turn it around after their loss last week's triple overtime loss to the Kentucky Wild Cats. This week the 5th ranked Tigers play host to Southeastern Conference West Division rival 18th ranked Auburn. The last time that LSU was at home they had a 10 point fourth quarter to beat then 9th ranked Florida. After last week's loss the Tigers come in with a record of 6-1 SU (3-1 in the SEC West) but a bankroll draining 3-4 ATS. Auburn comes into this one on a four game winning streak and sit at 5-2 SU (3-1 in the SEC West) and 4-3 ATS. They have done well on the road this year posting a 2-0 SU and ATS mark. Last week Auburn edged Arkansas in Fayetteville 9-7 as they held Heisman Trophy candidate Darren McFadden to just 43 yards on 17 carries. When these two teams met last year Auburn was ranked #3 and LSU #6 as Auburn won 7-3 despite being out gained 311-182. TRENDS: LSU is 1-9 ATS (-8.9 Units) in home games against conference opponents over the last 3 seasons. Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville is 18-3 SU and ATS against and SEC opponent who has won 85% or better of their games and a perfect 7-0 ATS if they are a dog of 4 or more. LSU is also a horrible 0-4 ATS as a conference home favorite of 14 or less points. My Opinion: Take Auburn plus the points.
