Obviously no team goes into the NFL regular season with the goal of having a losing season just like no bettor hopes to empty their bankroll. However, the reality is that not everyone is going to win regardless of their pre-season hopes. But, that is not to say that opportunities aren't present to grab some early money as teams go into their first games of the regular season. I decided to pour through years of data to see if in fact certain teams started the regular season loaded for profits. In my analysis I also thought it to be worth while to focus on teams playing their first games of the year at home since these teams would be more apt to try and impress the home crowd. This certainly proved to be a profitable journey as there are six teams at home this year that have produced profits in this role in previous years. So, to start off your season with profits I offer you up the following home teams during week 1 this season (historical ATS mark in parenthesis). Buffalo (11-9-1); Dallas (6-3);Jacksonville (6-1); Oakland (7-2); San Diego (5-4); San Francisco (5-4) There you have it. Six teams that have proven in the past that game 1 of the NFL season at home really can be profitable for the asute bettor.
