Tonight the football gods offer up yet another dangerous Thursday conference road game for one of the country’s top ranked teams. This week it’s Boston College's chance to save serve when they visit Blacksburg to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. Boston College will be trying to avoid the same fate as USF last week who lost at Rutgers. The 2nd ranked Eagles will be playing their first ACC game since mid-September. On the season the Eagles are 7-0 SU overall including 3-0 SU in the ACC. Boston College has been a profitable betting proposition this season as they are 4-2 ATS overall and a perfect 3-0 ATS in conference play. In their last game back on October 13, Boston College beat struggling Notre Dame 27-14. In that game QB Matt Ryan threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns with an interception while RB Andrew Callender had two rushing TDs and one receiving TD. Virginia Tech after getting blown out back in September by LSU, has won five straight games and come in at 6-1 SU overall and 3-0 SU in ACC Play. They have drained their backers bankrolls at home this season going 0-3 ATS. The last time they played was also back on October 13, when they crushed host Duke, 43-14, when QB Sean Glennon rushed for 258 yards and two TDs. Virginia Tech is 9-4 SU against its former Big East Conference rival but lost last year, 22-3. This will be the toughest test to date for the Eagles but two things are in their favor tonight - 1. Virginia Tech is being outgained by their opponents an average of 3 yards per game, and - 2. The underdog is a profitable 9-3 ATS in their L12 meetings. At some point, things have to be normal with a highly ranked team winning. My Opinion: Take Boston College plus the points.
