It's that time of the year when the run for a BCS takes shape and the rank of the unbeatens starts to dwindle. Some hopes of participating in a BCS Bowl has vanished while others still consider themselves in the hunt. Without argument, teams that are in the Top 10 and are still unbeaten certainly have the right to believe that if they keep winning they should land themselve to the promise land. Although all of this is nice talk the real matter at hand is whether or not teams still unbeaten and in the BCS hunt this late in the season are worth your hard earned money as a college football pick this week. Searching the archives reveals the following:

Since 1980, undefeated College Football Picks teams playing on the road from Game Ten or later are a horrible 38-56-1 ATS. If they just happen to be playing a Conference opponent their performance becomes even more of a money burner at 28-42-1 ATS. Teams to watch in this scenerio this week are Penn State and Alabama

.

Taking it a step further, if that conference opponent is off a SU and ATS win they fall to an even worse 8-22-1 ATS. Before we give up, if the team happened to have beaten their opponent last year then you really have a money burner as they are only 4-16-1 ATS. The money burner this week is Penn State
