Boy, have the schedule makers lined up a dandy for tonight's Sunday night action when the high scoring Cowboys visit Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears. The Dallas offense certainly has lived up to it's preseason hype producing a league high 82 points in their first two games. Dallas QB Romo comes in with the second highest passer rating in the NFL helping the Cowboys to their first 2-0 start since 1999.
The Cowboys will argueably be facing one of the league's best defense and the Bears have been especially tough against the run so far this year. Last week the Bears held Larry Johnson, the NFL's second-leading rusher last year, to just 55 yards on 16 carries. In their first game of the season the Bears defense limited superback Tomlinson to 25 yards on 17 carries.
Some interesting trends to consider in this one: Dallas is 8-17 in road games off of back to back wins while head coach Phillips is a perfect 8-0 ATS off a non-divisional game versus and opplnent who is off a double digit SU win. The Bears on the other hand are 17-8 ATS as a non-divisional home favorite while the home team in this series is on a 5-0 SU and ATS run. The Cowboys come in leading this series 12-8 but they have not met since 2004, when the Cowboys beat Chicago 21-7.This one should be a dandy and intresting to see if the potent Dallas "O" will be able to move the ball in their first test against a top caliber defense. You might want to consider going under in this one as I am of the opinion that Dallas will struggle to produce points while the Chicago offense just can't score on anyone.
