It's Sunday Night of the first full Sunday of the NFL regular season and with it comes a marquee matchup in Prime Time when the NY Giants travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. The general public appears to believe that the Giants don't have a chance in this one as Dallas has been installed as a 6 points favorite. Is the line off or right on? Below I will attempt to answer that question by throwing in my opinion of tonight's game.

Tony Romo will have all eyes on him tonight to see how he is going to respond to his playoff blunder when he fumbled the snap on a field goal that would have put the Cowboys in a position to defeat the Seahawks in the wild-card game.

Romo will be facing a Giants team who he got his break into the big time last season when he replaced Bledsoe. In that game Romo threw three interceptions but did win five of his next six starts to get the Cowboys into the playoffs at 9-7. In addition to Romo the Cowboys hope that Terrell Owens will once again lead the NFL in receiving touchdowns and that RB's Marion Barger and Julius Jones will be a formidable one-two punch. Barber led the NFL in touchdowns last season with 16.

The Giants come into this game trying to replace the services of all-time leading rusher Tiki Barber, who retired after last season. His replacement will be huge running back, Brandon Jacobs, who was only used in short-yardage and goal-line situations. The Giants are also hoping that they will get more consistent play out of QB Eli Manning. Holdout Michael Strahan is expected in the lineup today but his effetiveness will be questionable as he missed all of the preseason.

SUPPORTING ANGLES: DALLAS is 1-6 SU & 2-5 ATS the past 7 seasons. NY GIANTS QB Eli Mannning is 9-5-1 ATS versus NFC East opponents.

A lot of the experts rank Dallas as a Super Bowl contender this season. However, keep in mind that the Giants have cashed in the number 6 straight times in this series and are 4-1 ATS their L5 in Big D. My Opinion: Dallas will win the game but have trouble covering the number. Take the Giants plus the points.
