I begin to sound like a broken record when I state that there are lots of games during the football season and picking your spots is critical to a long term better strategy. It makes no sense to jump on a game simply because it potentially has National implications and is on National TV to boot. That is the case with tonight's LSU/Florida key SEC matchup. Believe me, I would love to have a strong position on this game since it is so important but, in my opinion, this game just doesn't put enough in my favor to make it worth plunking down my hard earned money. However, with that being said, it is on National TV so it behoves me at least express my opinion. The 9th ranked Florida Gators visit "Death Valley" to take on the #1 LSU Tigers in a critial SEC contest. Florida comes into this one off an unexpected loss to Auburn last week 20-17. QB Tim Tebow had a good game for the Gators completing 20 of 27 passes for 201 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 75 yards. However Florida will have to find some offense from somebody besides Tim Tebow as the rest of the team had just 36 yards of offense. LSU comes in ranked #1 after leap frogging USC. Last week the Tigers remained unbeaten at 5-0 after beating Tulane 34-9 last week. Jacob Hester and Charles Scott each ran for a pair of touchdowns for the Tigers, who lead the nation in rushing defense (39.0 yards), pass-efficiency defense (67.76) and total defense (174.6), and are second in scoring defense (6.4 points). This game might have lost a bit of it's luster after Florida's loss last week but one must remember that the Gators won the National Title in '06 after losing it's only game to Auburn as well. Overall trends are on the Gators side as LSU is only 1-8 ATS in their L9 SEC games and Florida is 7-1-1 ATS in it's L9 as a road underdog. My Opinion: Take Florida with the points.
