The Houston Rockets look to take the upstart Portland Trail Blazers to school tonight in game one of the NBA Picks Playoff series. One focus of the Rockets will be Brandon Roy who is averaging 22.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game this NBA Picks season. He's had 55 games with 20 or more points, and 12 with 30 or more. The duties to stop Roy is going to the duo of Ron Artest and Shane Battier. The Rockets finished the NBA Picks season at 53-29 overall and is the West's fifth seed. The Blazers have historically had trouble in NBA Picks action with Houston center Yao Ming. Portland is hoping that Gregg Oden will be able to play in tonight's NBA Picks contest but he did not practice yesterday because of a sinus infection. He is considered a game-time decision for the NBA Picks playoff opener. In the first meeting this season between the two NBA Picks teams the Blazers won 101-99 victory at the Rose Garden. Not only is Portland a young NBA Picks team but they haven't been to the playoffs in six seasons while the Rockets haven't advanced in the NBA Picks playoffs since 1997 losing six straight first-round series.
