It's tough to resist the temptation when you have a televised game, preseason or not, to not want to jump in on the action. As I have said many times before this is not the time of the year to act foolish. Patience is a huge factor in being successful during the preseason. With that being said, however, for those of you who can't resist the temptation I have dissected tonight's Jacksonville/Green Bay matchup and have an opinion on the game so share. Last season the Jacksonville defense ranked in the top 10 in the NFL all season long and allowed the offense to outgain 12 of their 16 opponents. This year it appears as they have upgraded their defense a bit more when they went out in the off season and drafted S Reggie Nelson of Florida and LB Justin Durant of Hampton. The Packers didn't do a whole lot to improve their position in the off season and got QB Favre quite upset when they couldn't sign Randy Moss. In fact Favre uncharacteristically voiced his concerns about management over this situation causing them to demand an apology. It's not a good situation in Green Bay. Last week Jacksonville put up 31 points versus a lot defense than Green Bay is going to throw at them while Green Bay allowed a whopping 48 points to Seattle. Jacksonville has a lost better backup talent than Green Bay so I don't expect the dominance to drop off much with the starters decide to call it quits tonight. Lots of points should be scored in this one. My opinion: Take the over.
