In the Divisional round of NFL Picks Playoff action the Jacksonville Jaguars hit the road for the second week in a row when they travel to take on the unbeaten New England Patriots. Last week the Jaguars went into Pittsburgh and became the first opponent to win twice in the steel city in the same season in the Steelers' 75 year history. However, it didn’t seem that way initially as the Jaguars feel behind 29-28 with a little of 6 minutes remaining aided by Garrard’s two interceptions. Garrard finished the day only 9 of 21 for 140 yards. The Jaguars used running back by committee against the #1 Pittsburgh defense as Garrard, Taylor and Jones-Drew combined for 135 yards on 29 carriers. But it was Garrard’s 32 yard scamper that set up Jacksonville for the win. The Jaguars came into last weeks game off six wins in their last eight games while having the benefit of the Steelers missing five starters, including star running back Parker. As a result the Jacksonville defense was able to keep the Steelers running attack to a total of only 43 yards. But QB Roethlisberger was able to pass for 337 yards which could spell trouble when they face Brady and company this week.

The New England Patriots look to continue their quest for immortality as they roll into this game off a perfect 16-0 SU season. It wasn’t without drama however, as the Patriot struggled down the stretch almost losing three games to lesser teams. Their latest was a season ending come from behind victory over the New York Giants where they had to overcome their largest deficit of the season. The Patriots will be hoping that team quickness will be to their advantage as they come in against a Jacksonville team that is very physical and bigger then they are. The Patriot defense, who has shown some cracks this season, will be going up against the second most productive running attack in the NFL this season. If they are able to effectively stop the run that could spell trouble for Jacksonville as they have only a mediocre passing attack at best.

Although the Patriots struggled down the stretch they were dominant during the course of the season going 16-0 SU & 10-6 ATS while scoring the most points in NFL history. Playoffs have been when they excel as they are an Incredible12-2 SU & 8-5 ATS in the playoffs under Bill Belichick. The Jaguars haven’t been any slouch either as they come in 12-5 SU & 11-6 ATS so far this season but do lack playoff experience.

The Jaguars certainly have upset on their mind while New England comes in as a three time Super Bowl Champion. Will the perfect season continue?
