If the first few weeks of the College Football season has taught us anything, it's that parity has struck when you venture outside of the top 3 teams in the country. Why else would you get preseason favorites being outgained and in some cases outright beaten by supposed lesser competition. With all of the uncertainty it's important that adjustments be made to your handicapping approach so that you can capatilize on the current state of affairs.

Like any good handicapper, I spent most of the early part of this week analyzing and developing new approaches to this, and subsequent, weeks action. My adjustments have led me to some key opportunities this weekend which I have listed below.

Mississippi State at South Carolina: Mississippi State is 4-1 ATS when on the road looking for revenge against a conference opponent but are a dismal 0-5 ATS off of three straight wins. South Carolina on the other hand is 4-1 when listed as a favorite against a conference opponent who is looking for revenge and 9-2 ATS at homme in game five. Prediction: Take South Carolina.

California at Oregon: California is 3-0 ATS off back to back double digit home wins but only 1-5 ATS as conference road dogs of less than 7 points. Oregon is 4-1 ATS L5 in this series and 7-1 ATS L8 at home. Prediction: Here is one adjustment to make and not necessarily go with trends as California is playing better football right now. Take California.

UCLA at Oregon State: UCLA is 4-0 ATS L4 in his series, 6-0 ATS in Game Five of the season and 4-0 ATS versus a conference opponent looking for revenge. Oregon State is 14-4 ATS at home looking for revenge againts a conference opponent but only 2-11 ATS off a double digit SU conference road loss. Prediction: Take UCLA in this one.

Penn State at Illinois: Penn State is 4-0 ATS L4 in this series, 5-1 ATS in Game Five, 4-1 ATS after Michigan. Illinois is 5-0 ATS as an underdog looking for revenge against a conference opponent and 4-1 ATS as an underdog in first of back to back home games. Prediction: Take Illinois.

Michigan State at Wisconsin: Michigan State 4-0 ATS after Notre Dame but 0-7 ATS as a conference underdog of less than 7 points. Wisconsin is 3-1 ATS their L4 at home in this series but only 2-6 ATS in playing their third straight home game. Prediction: Take Wisconsin.
