The weekends always bring a plethora of baseball activity as fans prepare to go to the ballparks and cheer for their favorite and in most cases home teams. Along with fan excitement, these series bring on some great opportunities for the sports enthusiasts who look to profit. Today, we take a look at a few of those series and pinpoint the best profit opportunities along with some insight as to why that is the case. Keep in mind that other factors can and do affect the outcome of these early selections, but these will give you the leg up that you'll need to win. Below are my picks: Houston at Pittsburgh: The pirates are once again going through the motions as they have lost 6 in a row and are 13 1/2 games out of first with a 40-54 mark. However, they do have one bright spot in the rotation and that is left-hander, Tom Gorzelanny who is 4-2 at home with a very good 3.10 ERA. The only team worse than the Pirates are the Astros who have been horrible on the road going 16-33 and have struggled versus lefties at 11-15. My Pick: Take the Pirates when Gorzelanny is on the mound Seattle at Toronto: The Seattle Mariners are having a fine season and find themselves only two games back of the front running Angels with a record of 53-39. The Mariners have been especially effective on the road recording over $700 of profits. The Blue Jays on the other hand are coming off a heart breaking series versus the Yankees where they lost three of four. In addition, the Blue Jays have been absolutely horrible versus right handed pitching posting a 28-38 mark. The Seattle pitching staff is coming into it's own and that will spell big trouble for the Blue Jays. My Pick: Take the Mariners when they send a righty to the hill. San Francisco at Milwaukee: The Brew Crew come into this game at the top of the NL Central after taking three of four from the Arizona Diamondbacks. At home this season Milwaukee has been almost unbeatable racking up an impressive 35-15 record. The Giants on the other hand have been horrible on the road this season and are coming out of a series with the Cubs that saw them lose three of four. On the road this season San Francisco is only 18-30 and they have really struggled versus right-handed pitching posting a money losing 26-40 mark. My Pick: Take Milwaukee when they throw a righty at the Giants. For Michael's Premium selections visit http://www.alexandersports.com
