Sure the Miami Dolphins haven't won a game this season and are only 3-6-2 ATS up to this point, so why would one even consider bettting them? Well, before we write them off totally let's examine their overall performamce this season. Even though Miami is 0-11 SU 6 of those 11 losses have come by a field goal, including this past Monday's loss to the Steelers. So, if that is the case why do are they still losers verus the number? It's because the odds makers still hadn't treated them as a winless team. They have only bee listed as a double-digit dog three times this season and have gone 2-1 ATS in those games. Outside of their record the Dolphns actually do have some things working in their favor on the statistics front. They are averaging over 5 yards per play which closely matches the highest total of any losing club in the league and they have had good balance in running and throwing the ball. They have had problems on defensive side of the ball allowing over 25 points per game but that could be a good thing as the odd makers are sure to keep pushing up the number. Add to the fact that historically the last three winlessteams who allowed more than 140 rushing yards per game went on to go 16-8 ATS during the second half of the season. If you are still a bit squeemish about betting the Dolphins let's take a look at some factors of teams who couldn't win SU but had been successful ATS during the second half of season: 1- Miami has been competitive as witnessed by their 6 losses by 3 points; 2 - Miami does have balance on offense and has moved the ball at times; 3 - The odds makers are starting to treat them as a winless team and starting to inflate the number. Miami's remaining schedule shows them playing against inept
offenses and/or underachieving teams where 4 of their L5 opponents also have a losing records. I forsee Miami possibly winning 2 of their last 5 outright while covering the number in 4 of them. So don't give up on the Dolphins yet! Michael has heated up on the grid iron and has another card of Winners lined up this weekend!
