The Dallas Cowboys look to gain back some respect as they take on the Minnesoa Vikings one week have they got pasted by the New England Patriots. If anything, last week showed that the Cowboys have a long way to go if they want to be considered one of the elite teams in the NFL. Dallas QB Tony Romo threw for 199 yards which was only the second time this season he was held under 200 yards. Even with last week's loss the Cowboys still sit atop the NFC East at 5-1 SU and have been a profitable 4-2 ATS. Against the Patriots the Cowboys couldn't seem to come up with an answer to Tom Brady and this week they will be up against another formidable offensive weapon in Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, who rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns last week. The Dallas defense has been stout versus the run this season giving up only 80 yards per game. In this weeks' contest Minnesota QB Tarvaris Jackson will be back for his second game after missing his two previous games with a groin injury. But it shouldn't matter that much as the hopes of the offense today will rid on the shoulders of their fine rookie running back. Even with all of his yards last week the Vikings had to hit a last second field goal to beat the Bears. The Vikings come in at 2-3 SU and 2-1 ATS. Things to Consider: MINNESOTA is 4-13 ATS (-10.3 Units) after allowing 350 or more passing yards in their last game since 1992. DALLAS is 18-7 ATS (+10.3 Units) after allowing 35 points or more last game since 1992. DALLAS is 19-8 ATS (+10.2 Units) in home games after 2 or more consecutive losses against the spread since 1992. Dallas has something to prove in this one and they should be able to contain Peterson with their much bigger and quicker defense. Look for the Cowboys to come back big.
