Below is a free NFL play, with analysis, for Saturday night:

SAINTS at TEXANS (Over 40) – 8:00 pm ET #419-420

Not an official play, but I would rate the Over as a light lean tonight.

New Orleans and Houston both won their opening preseason games last week but neither team was satisfied, especially with their offensive production. The Saints first-team offense got off to a slow start in their game against the 49ers as they produced nothing while going three-and-out in three consecutive drives. And getting their starting offense going is their major focus tonight in Houston. "Obviously the goal is to look better than we did in the first preseason game," said QB Drew Brees. “We want to look sharp, we want to get a good roll going, try to spread the ball around a lot, get guys a lot of touches. Just get everybody involved and feeling like they have an opportunity to make plays. That's always important, just from a confidence standpoint. And every year you just want to re-establish yourself and your identity."

Houston’s first team offense wasn’t much better in their first preseason game against the New York Jets. Texans’ quarterback Matt Schaub completed just 2 passes for 20 yards, but according to head coach Gary Kubiak, we can expect much more from Houston’s starting offense tonight. “Just to kind of pick everything up. Our ones will play football. I just want to move forward. I want to see these guys play more, going to play a lot more with the first group, maybe even up to a half. We’re obviously doing a little bit more offensively this week.”

The Saints and Texans have played in the preseason the past three years. The scores in all three of those games were high with 58, 52, and 58 points scored. With both New Orleans and Houston looking to get their offenses going, we expect another high-scoring game tonight and recommend playing this game Over the total.
