The hapless New York Jets visit the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12 and would be a surprise to be an NFL Pick this week as they sit just 2-8 SU overall on the season. However, last week the Jets’ pulled off a surprising win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime 19-16. The win snapped a six game losing streak and was their first since their win over Miami way back in week 3. One big reason for their success last week was that RB Thomas Jones ran for 117 yards on 30 carries and was the first running back in 35 games to rush for 100 yards against the top-ranked Steelers defense. On the other side of the ball the Jets were no slouch either as their defense had their best game of the year as they sacked Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger seven times and held RB Willie Parker to 52 yards on 21 carries. All of this cone by a New York defense that came in ranked 30th overall and last against the run. The Dallas Cowboys come into this one off three divisional games in a row and will have to guard against a huge letdown when they face a far inferior opponent in the Jets. Last weeks win over the Redskins left the cowboys at 9-1 SU and tied with the Packers for the best record in the NFC. This is their best start since 1982. Next week they will face the Packers in what will probably decided who has home field advantage. The win over the Redskins last week matched last season's win total and put the cowboys in great shape to win the NFC East. The Cowboys are 4-0 SU in division play and hold the tiebreaker over the New York Giants, the only other club that can still finish with four division wins. Much of the win can be attributed to the outspoken Terrell Owens as he had 4 TD catches and a total of 173 yards. QB Tony Romo 22 of 32 for 293 yards while RB’s Jones and Barber combined for a total of only 70 yards on 24 rushes. Dallas has preferred facing conference rivals in Turkey Day games as they have lost three straight to the AFC while going 1-2 ATS. However, Dallas is on a 5-1 SU & 4-2 ATS run in non-conference games. The Jets surprisingly have won two straight ATS after losing their prior five. But, before you pluck down your money on the Jets consider that they are 0-5 SU & 1-4 ATS this L5 on the road. The last time that the Jest were listed as a double digit dog on the road was in 2006 whey they beat New England 17-14. This one could be more interesting then you think as the Cowboys might be thinking they can take the day off after three tough divisional games.
