The NBA season is long and grueling and as such lends itself to teams going on both hot and cold streaks. In addition, teams are at one time or another required to play multiple games in one week with some falling on consecutive days. As is no surprose some teams playing without any rest in back to back games do better than other squads. There are a number of reasons why this is the case including some teams having more depth or a coach who likes to play the first game with the second game in mind and gives key personnel fewer minutes. Certainly trends and angles can change in any given year but over the course of time as long as teams don't change key personnel and/or their coach this one angle tends to be a good one to utilize in your handicapping arsenal. As an example, last year the Utah Jazz were 6-12 ATS in games with zero rest. This year, their bad record is continuing with just a 1-4 ATS mark so far this season playing without any rest. Another team who historically has problems in back to back games is Denver where last year they were a bankroll draining 8-12 ATS and this year are just 1-3 ATS on the second
game on back to back situations. It stands to reason why these numbers pan out like they do, so let's take a look at tonight's games where at least one of the teams are playing in their second of back to back games and see if we can grab an edge for profits. Boston at Chicago: Boston goes into this game at 3-1 ATS on no rest while Chicago is -03 ATS. Utah at Dallas As shown above the Utah Jazz are just 1-4 ATS in back to back games. Memphis at AtlantaMemphis' young team seems to be alright in back to back games as they are 3-2 ATS this season. Philadelphia at New York Philadelphia rolls into this one at 2-3 ATS off back to back contests while New York is even at 2-2 ATS. Phoenix at Minnesota Phoenix has been doing well on the road this season and it appears to continue in the second of back to back games as they are 3-2 ATS this season. Sacramento at Denver Sacramento has been horrible on the road this season overall and it doesn't change in back to back games as they are only 1-2 ATS.
