Although there are a ton of preseason games on the schedule there are a few number that are on National TV during Prime Time. As a result one must resist the temptation to wager on a TV game if it just not the right situation with which to profit. One such game is tonight that pits the Seattle Seahawks against the San Diego Chargers. Both teams come in with high aspirations for the upcoming season. The Chargers come into this game with a new head coach in Norv Turner. I know for one, that I am still scratching my head over this move in getting rid of Schottenheimer. All he did was have four good years in San Diego, but did have trouble in the playoffs. Now the Chargers expect Turner to take a team with a good level of talent to the promised land. Keep in mind though that Turner is just 1-10 ATS as a division favorite. Seattle was busy in the off season as they added safeties Deon Grant and Brian Russell who have the coaching staff buzzing. The Seahawks also added veteran coach Jim Mora Jr. who should vastly improve the defense. Holmgren is 23-15-1 ATS in preseason action. Norv Turner and staff give San Diego the pre-season angle of new head coach in first home game (3-1 ATS thus far in 07). Turner inherits a pretty good and deep team. The Seahawks are as balanced across the depth chart, and have long-term systems in place, but the secondary has been overhauled. Mike Holmgren had won three straight Week One games easily until losing 13-3 to Dallas in ’06. This one is really too close to call, but if you must, take a look at the first year coach at home angle. Opinion: San Diego by 4.
