Below is a free MLB play with analysis for Saturday night:
Giants/Rockies UNDER 9.5 -115 (Surkamp/Pomeranz) – 8:10 pm ET #962
Not an official play, but I would rate the Under as a light lean tonight.
The Rockies are limping to the finish as they continue their series with the Giants. Colorado has lost three of their last four and they haven't shown much punch offensively as of late. Colorado has scored just 17 runs in their last five games. They'll face promising lefty Eric Surkamp who is making his fourth major league start. Surkamp beat the Padres his last two times out. He has allowed just seven runs and 18 hits over 16.2 innings of work. Colorado is hitting around .255 in their last eight games and they are playing without Carlos Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki who are hurt along with Todd Helton. That's the majority of Colorado’s offense. San Francisco's bullpen has been good this season converting 79% of their saves overall blowing just 13 of them.
Also promising is Drew Pomeranz who made his debut for the Rockies on September 11th, allowing just two hits and two walks in five innings against the Reds. That start came at home, so Pomeranz has pitched in the thin air in Colorado and won't be intimidated by his surroundings tonight. San Francisco has gone Under in 27 of their 39 games against left-handed starters whom they are hitting just .240 against, while putting up just 3.1 runs per game.
