As the lure of the NFL continues to get stronger and big pay days dance in the heads of some of College Football's elite players it is important that you understand what the impact is of losing players has on a College football team. Certainly losing a top player, at least on the surface, can decimate any one team but what if that or any other team has a boat load of returning starters? So, in my never ending quest to beat the books, I decided to take a look at any teams in college football who had at least 17 returning starters this season and whether or not I could bank on them to make me profits. Along with some situational analysis below are some profitable angles along with this weeks opportunities: Supporting Base Trend: Teams who are returning 17 or more starters from the previous season are 1146-1020-24 ATS (52.%) since 1990. Although not a stellar profit maker it does show that just blindly betting teams with a lot of returning starters will keep you out of the poor house. What If Scenario #1: What if these same teams are coming off an 0-2 ATS run? Teams in this situation are an even more profitable 195-131-4 (59.8%) ATS. What If Scenario #2: What if these teams not only are coming off two ATS losses in a row but are listed as a dog as well? Teams in this situation are 111-68-2 ATS since 1990. At last, we have three teams this week that qualify in this scenario. They are: Central Florida, Idaho and Purdue. What if Scenario #3: What if these teams are coming off 2 ATS losses in a row, are listed as a dog, have a defense and that gives up less than 33 points per game? Now we really get into the profit makers as teams in this scenerio are an unbelievable 28-9 ATS. What if Scenario #4: Ok, let's take a look at one more. What if these teams out of scenario #3 lost by 14 or more points in their previous game? This one really cooks the books posting a bankroll increasing 14-2 ATS.
