A wise man once told me way back when I was trying to figure out how to manage people that "past behavior is an indicator of future performance." At the time I really didn't think much of his advice but as I got older I began to understand what he meant. So, after applying this principle to my managment career I began to incorporate it into my study of handicapping. What I found was a remarkable weapon to add to my arsenal to beat the books. Because after all, isn't any game just a combination of individuals looking to either confirm or put to rest past performances, good or bad? So, with that said, let's take a look at this weeks' top betting trends in College Football:

Historical Trend #1:

Playing on road teams who are off a close loss by 7 points or less to a conference rival and are playing this week against and opponent who is off a blowout loss by 35 points or more to a conference rival is 27-3 ATS (90%) over the last 10 seasons. This season has produced a 2-0 ATS mark, is 6-0 ATS the L3 seasons and 10-2 ATS the L5.

Historical Trend #2:

Playing on road underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points in conference games who are off an upset loss as a double digit favorite is 40-9 ATS (81.6%) since 1992. The trend this season is 4-0 ATS, 12-1 ATS the L3 seasons, 20-5 ATS the L5, and 30-7 ATS the L10.

Historical Trend #3:

Playing against road underdogs after allowing 17 points or more in the first half in 2 straight games who are playing and opponent after a win by 17 or more points is 45-12 ATS (78.9%) over the last 5 seasons. The trend's record this season is 10-3 ATS, 24-7 ATS the L3 seasons, and 78-35 ATS the L10.

So there you have it! No matter what the issue and/or situation, history does tend to repeat itself so why not profit from it.
