Game of the week
Lions (4-0) vs Cowboys (2-2); The Lions beat the Cowboys, 34-30. The Lions have been more than showing they are a team to be taken very seriously. Putting something pretty special together early in the season. I, who was once unsure of the hype, am buying in on the Lions, they are legit. Turning a 24 point deficit from the 2nd quarter, roaring back to win the game 34-30 on Sunday. With 2 pick 6’s thrown by Tony Romo, having paved the path for confidence to start it up. Dallas turned the ball over 3 times to Detroit’s 1, even though Dallas owned the clock roughly 36 minutes to only 23 for Detroit. Megatron caught 8 for 96 yards and a pair of TDs, tying former Viking Cris Carter’s NFL record of catching 2 TDs in 4 straight games.
Upset of the week
Bengals (2-2) vs Bills (3-1); Bengals beat the Bills, 23-20. Rookie QB Andy Dalton played like a rookie in the 1st half, but changed it around in the 2nd half, going 11-16 and led the Bengals to victory over the flying high Bills. Mike Nugent kicked a 43 yards game winning FG to give the Bengals their victory over the Bills. Cincinnati overall, kept the game in their favor even though falling behind 17-3 in 1st half, by more than doubling the 1st downs of their opponents, 25-12.
NFL POW (PLAYER OF THE WEEK)
Aaron Rodgers (QB, Green Bay Packers) Rodgers was simply amazing, throwing 29-38 for a career high 408, and tied his career best with 4 TDs. And if that in itself wasn’t enough he also ran for 2 more TDs. Green Bay is looking like a truly domineering team right now, Rodgers was awesome, he beat Denver everyway to beat them, passing, and running, there was no stopping #12
Hard-hitting matchups this week to watch for; Bears (2-2) at Lions (4-0) (Of course, division matchup, always tense, but Stafford, who has been throwing it like a champion on the field, goes again a xxx ranked secondary. Calvin Johnson will be looking for a record to hold all alone on Sunday, that’s for sure.) Packers (4-0) at Falcons (2-2) (Rematch of last years divisional game, where the Pack crushed the Falcons, 48-21. And at this point right now, the Falcons don’t look nearly as good as they did last year at this point of the season, so this will be a real test for the Falcons where they stand on the season right now.) Jets (2-2) at Patriots (3-1) (Patriots, bah, Jets are “the only team that can beat them”, seems like a lifetime ago since Rex Ryan made that statement. It’s definitely going to be something to watch for, again, always a first-rate game when these 2 play, but with Brady doing what he has been doing, I question if the Jets can solve the issue from an angry New England team.) Titans (3-1) at Steelers (2-2) (Steelers are in a mess, Titans are just getting started. Ben was running for his life last game, and now LB James Harrison is injured as well. The Titans finally got some production from CJ28 with 101 yards vs Cleveland. Hasselbeck also comes into the game with a top 5, 104.7 passer rating, not too shabby, which by the way is over 20 pts than Big Ben.)
